The Bride
ELISABETH MASÉ
Solo & Friends

08.07. – 26.08.2023
Vernissage: 08 July, 2023,
4-7pm

MKM Galerie shows The Bride, one of Elisabeth Masé’s watercolor series on black paper, capricious “brides” in various, sometimes disturbing states and situations. The bride of our exhibition is funny, exuberantly creative, and disturbingly aggressive. Causing emotional discomfort, The Bride opens a discourse on female (sexual) desire, unleashed artistic creativity, and a stunning embrace of her own psychic disorders. Elisabeth Masé is an interdisciplinary artist and novelist, painter, and draftswoman. She writes fiction, makes objects, creates communities, and produces choreographies and artistic films. This exhibition is the third in a series of MKM exhibitions called SOLO & FRIENDS. They are dedicated to one single work, accompanied by the entire current ensemble of MKM artists. Masé’s The Bride is accompanied by works of Walid Raad, Ali Kaaf, Taysir Batniji, Maryam Motallebzadeh, Chaza Charafeddine, Željka Mićanović Miljković, Ekin Su Koç, Emin Turan, Patricia Lambertus, Furkan Akhan, Razan Nassreddine, Alexander Polzin, Chris Newman, Raziye Kubat, Mohamad Al Roumi, Maliheh Afnan, Katharina Karrenberg, Joseph Sassoon Semah, Elza Javakhishvili, Eva Beierheimer & Miriam Laussegger, Antonia Baehr, Ana Sontag. MKM GALLERY Schillerstraße 15 (4th floor) Berlin - Charlottenburg Open to visitors by appointment, except for Saturday afternoon July 8. On that day (vernissage), the exhibition is open to the public. For all other days, please book your visit. Gallery director A.S. Bruckstein hosts all her guests personally.
