As it was and still is extremely difficult to express one's artistic creativity freely in Teheran, these act drawings by Maryam Motallebzadeh convey nervousness, alertness, human solidarity, and circumspection. Forecasting the struggle on Teheran's streets Women! Life! Freedom! today, the drawing attains an urgency and contemporaneity that is precious and rare. Maryam Motallebzadeh, born in Tabriz (Iran), is a visual artist active in painting, drawings, installation, and performance art. Maryam Motallebzadeh’s work is exhibited internationally in museum and gallery exhibitions since 1974.
